Senior Mining engineering
Type of Mine: Open pit coal mine
In charge of evaluating of pre-feasibility new potential pits to extend the life of mine by 40 years.
• Being at the beginning of this study, the initial tasks are in process:
o Coordinating with the stakeholders to gather information such as legal, geology, geotechnical, social,
environment, and permitting in order to evaluate the feasibility of these two pits.
o Running different pit optimization with different scenarios to decide on the profitable shells and then design the
pits and spoils.
o Scheduling the phases to obtain the optimal NPV.
o Carrying out meetings with all departments that are directly involved to provide information.

Mining engineering postgraduate student at UBC
Developed Engineering Project in the technical and economic analysis of operational assets - “Truck of Choice” throughout
the six mines of Coal Business Unit.
• Coordinated with the different department to redefine the lowest ownership cost and reliable truck for the new purchases,
considering the 400ton and 320ton class truck, setting the framework which includes information from maintenance
(maintenance cost and, propulsion, retard and fuel rate normalized by altitude), business improvement, operations, planning
and finance departments.
• Performed different sensitivity analysis considering the parameters such as fuel price, capital cost, exchange rate, inflation,
tires price and equipment parts cost over the next 20 years.
• In addition, conducted the same assessment of the truck of choice for Quebrada Blanca 2 - Chile, to purchase 27
Trucks.
• Ran the pre-feasibility study of Trolley Assist using Trucks of 320tn payload capacity at Elkview Mine.

Superintendent of Special Mine Projects
Type of Mine: Open pit polymetallic mine and underground copper mine
Led the new mine project and a team of over 100 people, reporting to General Manager
• Provided leadership to a multidisciplinary senior team, achieving high performance.
• Led in developing and starting up the mine project, called “Ramping up of underground copper mine to 21,6K tonnes per
day”, the first stage from 6k to 13K tonnes per day. The project included the upgrade and optimization of the mining
operation, processing, and tailings storage activities, reducing the Capex from US$80M to US$50M, and payback period
from four to two years, and maximized the NPV.
• Refined the strategic mine planning considering company insight, the resources

Mine Superintendent
Type of Mine: Open pit gold mine
Led the start-up of the mine operation with a team of 180 people, reporting to Operation Manager.
• Lead the starting up of the operation of 20K tons per day of gold production, meeting the deadline strategic mining plans.
• Assisted in the development of the long-range and short-range planning, considering gold price, block model, geotechnical
information, metallurgical recovery, achieving the reduction of the strip ratio and increase profit.
• Estimated and controlled the operational budget and forecast of $18 million USD per year by implementing operational
KPIs.
• Guaranteed the monthly production target, achieving the lowest operating cost and high operational quality.
• Conducted CSR activities of the company and maintained social license to operate.

Senior Planning Engineer
Assisted in development of reducing of the metallurgical, and clay percentage impacts generating a new block model
with the criteria of Net Smelter Return (NSR) as a cut-off grade.
• Set up short and long-range plans considering the geotechnical information, reserves, and geological deposit information
optimizing the recovery percentage by providing an accurate blending of the ore grade and rock type.
• Reconciled mined areas by measuring the ore grade and controlling the quality of the mine operations achieving a
reconciliation deviation maximum of 2%.
• Designed profitable access roads, phases and spoils using Minesight.
• Estimated the forecast and budget of the mining cost, considering the mine phases, roads and spoils.
